Kwale Governor Salim Mvurya alongside his Deputy Fatuma Achani inaugurated the County's Budget and Economic Forum (CBEF).
The County Budget and Economic Forum is established by section 137 PFM Act 2012.
The purpose is to provide a means of consultation by the county government on preparation of county plans, the County Fiscal Strategy Paper and the County Budget Review and Outlook Paper for the county andon matters relating to budgeting, the economy and financial management.
During the event on Monday, Mvurya appreciated the outgoing CBEF team for participating in the International Budget and partnership programme on excelling as the best CBEF in the country.
He also hailed them for leading the public consultations in budget making process in the wards and village units; representing the public in Sector working groups; participating in formulation of county plans and budget estimates; and also participating in the World Bank's participatory budgeting programmes among the 13 chosen counties.
Mvurya further challenged the new committee to keep up with the superb record set and do more.
"I wish the new CBEF all the best as it starts performing its duties," he said.
