Kisii government has established a code of conduct and ethics for its staff as it aims to improve service delivery.
Governor James Ongwae said all county public officers will be required to maintain and enhance public confidence and have minimum standards of behaviour.
He said the code would create awareness on shared principals and that should govern attitude and behaviour in the county public service.
He said the code of ethics would instill discipline and moral responsibility in the county public service and mainstream ethics and integrity to all employees.
"It is a dawn for Kisii County as we have officially launched this important document that will govern all public officers in the county. They will be required to uphold and carry themselves responsibly so that service delivery can be bettered in the county," said the Governor.
He spoke on Thursday in Kisii town during the promulgation of the code at the county headquarters.
In order to achieve the set goals, the county boss said there would be induction through orientation and training of new officers on issues of ethics and integrity, and has regular sensitisation programs for the staff.
Nyanza regional Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission official, Cyprian Anyango said the commission stands with the county government to ensure successful implementation of the document.
She challenged the county public officers to live by the provisions of the code.
