Garissa county has launched Malezi Bora initiative which seeks to address the declining child survival indicators in the county through mobilization to increase use of routine child survival services.
Garissa county health executive officer Ahmed Omar said the initiative will create and enabling environment for women, families and communities to adopt health feeding practices in children.
He said other areas include nutritional and health education, screening and treatment and referral in malnourished children,pregnant mothers.
"The initiative will improve maternal and child health to reduce unnecessary deaths," he said.
Omar added that parents should seeking good medical attention for their young ones since they are future leaders.
"It is a responsibility of parents to take good care for the young children so that they grow in a health and a clean environment," said Omar.
