Local and international investors have been challenged to take advantage of the conducive environment of doing business in Uasin Gishu and invest on the county.

Ward representatives in the county have also pledged to pass legislation that are friendly to investors.

Speaking during the opening of Java at the Rupa's mall in Eldoret town on Thursday, Uasin Gishu County Assembly leader of majority Josphat Lowoi said they are ready to work with investors and create an environment that will enable their businesses to flourish.

"As leaders in this county we understand the role investors play for in our economic growth and we will work with all of them to ensure legislation we pass don't negatively affect their businesses," said Lowoi who is also the Karuna/Mibeki MCA.

Similar sentiments were shared by the Assembly's Trade Committee chairman David Biwott who reaffirmed that Uasin Gishu leaders will always strive to protect investments for both local and international investors.

"Investments in this area benefit our people through job creation and this is why we will keep ensuring the county remains peaceful so as to attract many more," said the Sergoit MCA.

Uasin Gishu county was last year ranked by the World Bank among top counties with the ease of doing business in the country.
