Speaking at the county assembly premises, the leaders termed the closure a threat to law students who have invested a lot to get education from the institution.

They blamed University Vice Chancellor Prof Richard Mibei and the management for laxity in handling the issues leading the closure of the university.

"We understand that the Council on Legal Education (CLE) had suspended, temporarily, the school from offering Bachelor of Law to students from February 20 to September 30, 2015 for them to take corrective measures. The school was supposed to take all corrective measures to ensure that it complied with the law, why did Mibey and the school management not work at speed to ensure that the school is not closed?" they asked.

They added, "We urge the ministry of Education to sack the Moi University management for sanity to be brought in the school. We urge parents to remain calm as we sort out the issues."
