The county government of Nyamira has been urged to give permanent and pensionable terms to contract staff at the Nyamira Level Five Hospital.
Speaking to journalists on Wednesday, the workers said they have worked at the facility for more than 15 years but are yet to be confirmed to date.
They said Governor John Nyagarama promised to employ them on a permanent basis but nothing has been forthcoming.
“There are some individuals who were employed recently and have been confirmed as permanent staff,” they said.
“Every month we receive Sh5,000 each and sometimes the salaries are delayed for even two months. We urge the county to confirm us because we have families to take care of,” they added.
Couty Health minister Gladys Momanyi told journalists that the county will look into the matter and solve it positively soon.
