Few weeks ago, there were protests by residents over the closure of a road they were using to pass through the club.

Security agents denied access of residents to the footpath they used to connect between Nyanchwa- town but it resulted in confrontations between the agents and residents.

The angered residents argued that they have been using the footpath for a long time without interfering with activities in the club.

This led to Deputy governor Maangi into forming a committee and held a consultative meeting on Monday to end the conflict that has for long been witnessed between the club management and the locals.

The meeting was attended by county officials, the Kisii sports club management and representatives from Nyanchwa community led by their area chief.

It was resolved that the County chief officer of administration and lands and the county planning director should work with the parties involved in the dispute to come out with a compromise before 6th April 2016.
