A member of the Nyamira executive committee was on Friday night involved in a road accident at the corner 'T' junction along the Kisii -Chemosit road.
The agriculture and livestock minister was rushed to the county referral hospital after the 9 pm incident.
The driver, who seemed to be shocked said that the on coming nissan matatu lost control and came straight to their vehicle hitting them head-on.
"I only saw the matatu come straight head-on to my vehicle and it was difficult to avoid it as the road was wet, it was by God's grace that we survived," said the driver.
The minister has since been discharged from hospital after her condition was stabilised.
However, some residents have accused her of misusing county resources, saying the vehicle was not supposed to be used for private matters.
