The county government of Uasin Gishu has entered into a partnership with the Ministry of Devolution to help control the rising number of street families in Eldoret town, Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno has revealed.
Speaking on Friday shortly after hosting a delegation from the Ministry, led by Principal Secretary Josepheta Mukobe, Chemno lauded the partnership, terming it "timely and long overdue."
"We are experiencing issues with the rising numbers of street families and we are glad that the national government has come to discuss how we can go about it," he said.
"The county is teaming up with children rescue centres and therefore, the national government coming in will be a boost even as we work to control the effects that come along with rising numbers of street families," he added.
