The county department of health services in conjunction with NASCOP is having a three day inter-county consultative meeting on elimination of mother to child transmission of HIV.
Speaking in Boma Inn during the meeting held on Monday, the county executive in charge of health Margret Chepkwony noted that the Ministry of Health through NASCOP is conducting a two-fold process of reviewing elapsed eMTCP.
"In order to enhance national and county level ownership and accountability for results, a two-fold reviewing as well as developing post 2015 framework needs to be looked at," added Chepkwony.
Chepkwony pointed out that the new framework will largely be guided by lessons learnt and recommendations from the previous framework.
She added that eMTCT pre-validation and validation guidelines and dual elimination of HIV and syphilis as defined by the world health organisation as stipulated by the old framework.
"As the lead partner implementing health agenda at sub-national level, the county government assures all stakeholders of their commitment to providing quality healthcare services to the public," Chepkwony said
She further noted that: "We recognise that achieving eMTCT requires strong leadership and governance, a responsive health system and community participation in designing and implementation of health care services."
