Chairman Trade, Tourism and Cooperatives committee in the Uasin Gishu County Assembly David Biwott has refuted claims that some businessmen are being discriminated by county askaris.

He said all businesses communities are the same regardless of their political affiliations.

"It is sad that some business are claiming that they are being harassed and discriminated, this is not true since we value any one conducting business in the County," he said in Eldoret town, Thursday.

"I want to assure the Kikuyu business community that will look into their claims and take action if confirmed that the allegations are true. Let's work as brothers and sister and in case one has a problem my office is open to help," he added. 

He, however, assured investor that the County is safe for investment since there is peace and no violence.

"I want to call upon President Uhuru Kenyatta and NASA leaders to solve their issues amicably since they are scaring away investors with the political instability being witnessed in the country," noted Biwott.

This comes after Kikuyu business community in Uasin Gishu County cried foul of being harassed by County askaris despite having compiled with the county's regulations.
