Kisii county government has been told to ensure that they complete the construction of Kiamokama hospital that has halted for almost two years now.
According to Nyaribari Masaba Member of parliament, Ezekiel Machogu the hospital's expansion began over two years ago after the county government set aside funds for the same but both locals and leaders are wondering why it was not completed.
Speaking on Saturday at Kiamokama shopping center Machogu said he will be writing a letter to the county government so they can explain why the project had stalled despite the fact that enough funds to complete it was set aside.
"Kiamokama hospital helps many locals in the area and its expansion would be of great benefit but we are wondering as leaders why the project is not complete and we call upon Governor James Ongwae to make follow-ups or we will take action on the same," said Machogu.
The MP further accused the county government of sidelining the area in terms of development adding that if they don't change he is willing to run for the county top seat in order to foster development in the region.
"We have no project that we can be proud of as the people of Masaba from the Kisii county government and yet we voted overwhelmingly for Governor James Ongwae and we would like him to rethink before it's too late," said Machogu
In 2016 the County government of Kisii had set aside Sh20 million for the upgrade of Kiamokama but currently, the project has stalled.
The County government has, however, blamed the stalling of various development projects to the National government as they have failed to send funds on time.
