The residents accused Nakuru Water and Sanitation Services Company (NAWASSCO) and Nakuru county government over the mess.

The rental houses in the area are owned by the Nakuru county government.

A spot check in the area showed a sorry state of affairs. Tenants also decry biting water shortage from NAWASSCO

According residents, the water company used to supply water three times a week but that stopped leaving loos in a bad state.

“Our health is in danger with this, we have a problem because the toilets cannot flush and the sewer has blocked. We call on government and NAWASSCO to step in,” said a resident.

Similar sentiments were echoed by John Kilonzi who called on NAWASSCO and the county government to address their plight.

NAWASSCO managing director James Gachathi said residents should be patient as they have moved to address the issue.

“We have a problem in Kivumbini and that is why we have commenced a program to ensure every house has piped water under the social connection policy. We call on the residents to cooperate with us in this move,” he said.
