Nyamira County government's health department has said that it has plans to bring health services closer to the residents.
According to the department's executive committee member Gladys Momanyi, the county government is set to build health facilities to be available and accessible after every three kilometers.
She said that this was a move to make the county healthy and improve economic growth.
"Our county and the department of health services is bringing health services closer to our residents by next year to ensure that they receive the services after every 3 kilometers. This will reduce the time for walking long distances and grow our economy," she said.
Momanyi added that the department is the only one fully devolved and greater achievements have been realised so far, adding that they have so far provided employment for over 1200 people.
She was speaking on Thrursday at the third county pre-annual devolution conference held at Sironga girls school.
