Led by Lady Justice Lydia Achode, the team met deputy governor Joash Maangi in his office on Monday before embarking on their duties.

The committee was established by Kenya's Chief Justice Willy Mutunga in 2015 to trace and seek the recovery of Judiciary land and other assets lost through illegal and irregular acquisition over the years.

"Over the recent years, there has been a backlog of cases in the few courts in our county, thus hampering the administration of justice," said Maangi.

"As a county government, we promise our partnership with the Judiciary so that land can be identified and provided in every sub-county headquarters to build courts and Judicial staff houses," he added.
