The County government through the Departments of Trade, Tourism and Investment and Environment and Natural Resources had planned for a cleanup exercise from Nyali Beach to Serena Beach in Shanzu.

The advisory indicated torrential rains on May 5, 2018.

"The County Department of Trade, Tourism and Investment have deliberated extensively with various stake holders and found it prudent to postpone the planned clean up to 12th May 2018," said a communication from the Sub County Administration on May 4.

"It is for the reason that county officials direct their energy into managing disasters during this rainy season. Sorry for any inconvenience caused. Lets all meet next Saturday 12th May 2018 and make Mombasa County Clean."

This even as the County Government through Department of Environment and Waste Management continuous to collect garbage and cleanup the city despite heavy rains in efforts to keep Mombasa clean.

Sub County and Ward Administrators have also been on the frontline coordinating the clean up exercises across the County.
