Speaking in Naivasha on Tuesday during World Water Day, Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua said that there have been challenges in ensuring the county has access to clean water but there are strategies to ensure it’s a success.

“The County Government has over the past three years adopted integrated approach to economic development through sustainable management of environment and exploitation of natural resources,” Kinuthia said.

“I must, however, state that despite all the adversities, we have identified our challenges and laid out strategies to tackle them with boldness.

Our mission is to ensure that every home, village and town has clean piped water,” he added.

World Water Day is an international observance and an opportunity to learn more about water related issues.

The celebrations were held at Mirera primary school in Naivasha and were graced by water CS Eugene Wamalwa among other dignitaries.
