The county government of Uasin Gishu is ready to participate in the Kenya Inter County Sports Association (KICASCA) games of this year.
The sports department on Saturday finalized the registration and selection of various teams that will represent the county during the games to be held in Machakos County.
Speaking at the closing ceremony, the Chief Officer for Sports, Ms. Eunice Kerich, noted that there was a large turnout for the competition and that it was a good move for the county as it represented a good opportunity for young talents to get identified and nurtured.
The CO urged the players to continue with the same spirit so as to have teams from the county being registered for competitions at national level.
“I am certain that the county will be well represented in the KICOSCA games and we will emerge champions as our slogan says,” said Kerich during the closing ceremony in Uasin Gishu Primary School.
Various departments in the county were well represented with the department of education and youth affairs coming in the third position. The winning department of public service management was given trophies as an award of appreciation and motivation.
The KICOSCA games are scheduled on 19th November to 26th November 2017 in Machakos stadium.
