Environmental Conservation in Eldoret town continues to attract more partners who have come on board to clean various parts of the County through garbage collection.

Early Saturday, The Leo Club Eldoret Chapter, the young union under the Lions Club organised a clean up exercise at the Sosiani River.

Speaking to the young team before the cleanup, Water, Environment, Tourism and Natural Resources County Executive  Mary Njogu appreciated the team for their noble thought of making the river clean.

"It is so rare to find a young team of your kind having such kind of thoughts. I am so much impressed by what you are doing and as a County Government, we are going to support you fully," said Njogu.

She further noted that during the April short rains, her department is going to partner with the Leo Chapter to plant trees along the banks of the River.

"We really need to restore the glory of Sosiani River and such combined efforts will definitely take this resource back to its original state," added the County Minister.

Led by its  president Yash Kachela, 14, the team is impressed by what the County is doing in terms of environmental conservation through the Continous garbage collection especially at the urban set ups.

The team vowed to work with the County in ensuring that the soon to be city is clean and one that will attract investors globally.

The clean up exercise which has been going on is set up to continue across every part of the County.
