The Nakuru County government has received a water tanker from the World Bank to boost water provision.
Speaking on Wednesday at Nakuru Town during the commissioning of 16,000 litre water tanker, county governor Kinuthia Mbugua said the tanker will be useful for the drier areas.
He said the vehicle would supplement the provisions of water that the county government is providing.
“The vehicle will boost provisions of water to areas that are hard hit by water shortages like Ndabibi and Maai- Mahiu,” said Kinuthia.
Kinuthia said that the vehicle is capable of supplying water to over 4,000 families who have problem in accessing water.
He also said that the county government has initiated a number of water projects in all the sub counties to enable residents access water.
“The county government has implemented 65 water projects at a cost of Sh 160 million,” said Kinuthia.
He further said that the county government has been partnering with development partners in all sectors of economy and thanked the World Bank for its donation and its continued support in the growth of county's growth.
Presenting the vehicle on behalf of the World Bank was the Rift Valley Water Services Board (RWSB) CEO Japheth Mutai.
