Motorists in Kisumu can now breathe a sigh of relief, after the county government moved in to continue with the construction of the Kisumu Boys High School roundabout.
The contraction of the road that leads to Kondele junction had stalled, after the county government put the contractors on notice that saw them suspended from their contract.
The contractors moved in on Wednesday morning to proceed with the construction of the roundabout road to the relief of motorists.
Kisumu Regional Traffic Enforcement Officer Joshua Omukata told this writer that traffic police have also been deployed along the main stage road to control the traffic flow.
“Since now there is only one lane for both passages, we have deployed the traffic police to control the traffic flow and ensure that sanity prevails on the main stage road neighboring the two schools; Kisumu Boys and Kisumu Girls High schools,” said the traffic boss.
A statement from County Secretary Humprey Nakitare to the press said that the construction of the road is set to be complete by latest August this year, to pave way for the broadening of the all roads leading to the major roads.
