Kiambu County revenue collection has doubled following integration of ICT in revenue collection.
Introduction of the county card used to pay bills in a better, efficient and simpler way also boosted the revenue collected.
Announcing the doubling of tax from Sh1 billion to Sh2 billion in 2013-14 and 2014-15 respectively, Governor William Kabogo lauded the business fraternity in the county for their corporation to harmonise rates and enabling the county government to create a better business environment.
He noted that technology was better and helped in sealing the loopholes of tax evaders making the county reap big in tax collection.
He lauded the residents' loyalty to the county and pledged to put more efforts in improving livelihoods in the county.
Kabogo attributed the increase of revenue to massive media campaigns.
