Machakos County government has sought a business partnership with China Railway 21st Bureau Group Company Ltd, the firm that was contracted to construct the Mombasa Highway dual carriage from Athi River to Machakos turn off.

According to Governor Alfred Mutua who led a meeting with the top management of the company in his office on Thursday, Mutua said the county is looking to partner with the company in areas of reciprocal interests like labour.

"Maendeleo Chap Chap advocates for speedy development that is free from corruption, unnecessary bureaucratic procedures and bottlenecks that derail the speed of implementation of development projects," he said.

"We have agreed that locals will be given priority once construction works begin," he added. 

The county boss asserted his administration's commitment to creating a conducive environment for efficiency and effectiveness during the construction of the dual carriageway.

 Present during the meeting was the firm's general manager Sun Yingtuan, his assistant Lin Sung and Human Resource Manager Constance Nguli.
