The County government of Mombasa is preparing to invite members of the public to give their views on the County Integrated Development Plan (CIDP) which be implemented over the next five years.Sub-county and ward administrators in Mombasa on Wednesday engaged in a day-long planning workshop for the public participation exercise.The meeting was spearheaded by officers from the County Department of Finance and Economic Planning.Zuhura Abdala, an official from the Finance Department, said the exercise which is scheduled to take place later next month, will enable the general public to contribute to the county's planning and development.“The facilitators shared ideas with the sub-county administration on how best they can run the coming exercise successfully. This will enable us to achieve its intended objectives such as taking keen focus to probe and capture the problems, needs, challenges, and solutions raised by citizens in order to get a clear understanding of them, ” said Zuhura.The participants also tipped the administrators on how to manage time well in a bid to get the intended views.The administrators expressed optimism that the public participation forum will go on well and residents will show up in large numbers to share their views.The CIDP is expected to guide budgeting and planning in the county for the next five years.
