The county government of Uasin Gishu and Eldoret Water and Sanitation (ELDOWAS) Company has laid down plans to increase water supply.

Governor Jackson Mandago said his government is gearing towards connecting all households to piped water by 2022.

“It is my passion and vision to see that every resident of Uasin Gishu County gets reliable clean water at their convenience. We will partner with Eldowas, Lake Victoria North and other partners to guarantee sustainable provision of clean water,” he said during the Eldoret Water and Sanitation Company (ELDOWAS) Annual General Meeting, Friday.

“My government has also drilled over 80 boreholes under the community managed projects to serve the rural population. Plans are underway to sink more than 180 boreholes and rehabilitate more than 35 dams across the county as we actualize this dream. I want residents to get clean water,” he added.

He reiterated that the Elagarini Dam and Two River Water projects will increase the water volume in Eldoret city and curb the current deficit that forces ELDOWAS to ration the available water
