The Appointments Committee in Nakuru led by Speaker Maina Kairu is finalizing its recommendations after vetting appointees to the position of County Executive Committees (CeC).
According to Nakuru county assembly clerk Joseph Malinda, once the committee is through with the report and findings, it will then be tabled in the assembly for members to debate.
If a majority of the members of the house okay the proposed appointees, then it shall be forwarded to the Governor for swearing in.
Among the appointees vetted are Engineer Lucy Wanjiku Kariuki (Lands, Housing and Physical Planning), Halima Gababa Abdulahi (Women, Youth, Culture, Gender, Sports and Social Services), Lawrence Mwangangi Mwania (Public Service, Training and Devolution) and Joseph Wainaina Kiuna (Finance and Economic Planning)
Others are Eng Joseph Irungu Mburu (Infrastructure), Immaculate Njuthe Maina (Agriculture, Livestock, Fisheries and Cooperatives), Dr Jonah Manjari Mwangi (Health Services), Raymond Komen Kimutai (Education, ICT and e-Government), Engineer Festus Ng’eno (Water, Environment, Energy and Natural Resources) and Dr Peter Evans Kiplangat (Trade, Industry, Marketing and Tourism).
In 2013 former Nakuru Governor Kinuthia Mbugua faced a set back after the county assembly rejected some of the names proposed forcing a fresh exercise on the same.
