Victor Swanya, speaking in Keroka town when he gave out foodstuffs to people living with disability, said that the county government should know that people living with disability have a great need and they should always be remembered.

“We have come here to give something so our friends can celebrate this festive season. I want to call upon the county government of Nyamira to ensure that our brothers are given priority because they need us and we need them,” he said.

The people living with disability could not hide their joy from what the politician gave to them and thanked him saying that they will now have something to eat like other people.

“We are thankful to Mheshimiwa for remembering us this Christmas. He has given us a reason to smile because some of us had nothing at all. We have been given sugar, flour and cooking oil,” said Samuel Omurwa, the Keroka chairman of people living with disability.

In a similar way, Bosamaro MCA Boniface Ombori also gave Christmas gifts to orphaned children at Riongige hospital. He urged the people to remember their brothers and sisters who are not able to get something to celebrate this festive season.

“These are our children here and they are the future leaders, they had nothing to celebrate that is why I brought them the foodstuff. I know next year they will be going to school so I also brought some school materials,” said Ombori.
