The county government has shut down the West Mugirango Constituency Development Fund office located at the Nyamira County Assembly buildings.
Daniel Orina, the County Secretary, said the CDF officials had been at the county assembly buildings for a long time and so should be relocated elsewhere.
Addressing journalists in Nyamira town on Wednesday, Orina said he issued a two-week notice to the officials to vacate but have not acted, prompting the county to close the office.
“This CDF office has been at county assembly buildings for a long time and we want the officials to look for a different venue for their operations,” he said.
However, West Mugirango CDF chairman Jared Nyagwoka said it was saddening that the offices had to be closed yet many people access them for services.
He asked to be given more time to relocate the office.
