Oserian Development Company and White Rose Foundation entered into a partnership with the county government worth Sh15 million for the construction of a modern maternity and a laboratory in Maella ward.

Chief Officer Department of Health in the county Dr Samuel Mwaura noted that many pregnant mothers in the area only attend the first antenatal clinic and the number decreases forthwith in consequent clinics supposed to be attended.

“Data from the facility clearly indicated that there was a huge gap between the pregnant mothers attending first antenatal clinic visit compared to the fourth visit,” he said Tuesday.

He thanked White Rose Foundation and Oserian Development Company for their input in the facilitation of construction of a maternity and a laboratory.

“The county welcomes the gesture and this will go a long way in preventing home deliveries and save lives of mothers and children,” said Mwaura.
