Nyamira County Assembly Speaker Joash Nyamoko has assured his North Mugirango supporters that he has no intention of deputizing a gubernatorial aspirant in 2017.
The youthful speaker, who is keen to trounce MP Charles Geni on North Mugirango had been tipped by a section of residents to deputize one of the gubernatorial aspirants, Charles Mochama in 2017.
In an exclusive interview with the reporter on Thursday, Nyamoko denied the reports and insisted that he was not familiar to Mochama.
“I am only getting that information from you because I have never even met Mochama one on one. I only saw him from a distance in three occasions for the last four years, so I am not aware of such a plan because it doesn’t exist,” he said.
“I will still go for parliamentary seat because my people want me to serve them. I once again remind my supporters that I am running for North Mugirango parliamentary seat and not deputy governor as those people are saying,” added Nyamoko, who said he was still loyal in Peter Kenneth’s KNC.
The second speaker of Nyamira Assembly also said he was determined to ensure transparency and accountability in the legislative arm of the county.
“For now I am focused to leave behind a legacy in the assembly by fighting any opaque deals. Our people must be served better and that is what I stand for,” he said.
