Uasin Gishu County Assembly speaker David Kiplagat has promised to ensure that devolution is upheld by ensuring funds from the national government are felt by the electorate.

Mr Kiplagat said he will provide necessary leadership for the County Assembly to perform its oversight and representation role without any interference.

“I will ensure there is efficient delivery of services by MCA’s through a working system that is organized and well facilitated for them to deliver quality services,” he said at the  Uasin Gishu County Assembly, Monday.

“My leadership will uphold the oversight role to the latter,” he added.

He reiterated under his tenure he will strengthen the relationship between the county assembly, senate and the executive.

“I want us to work harmoniously with the other arms without fighting to enhance service delivery to mwananchi who is eagerly waiting. We will gain nothing through fighting each other,” noted Kiplagat.

He also promised to revamp the Assembly to a state of art facilities and ensure they pass bills that will directly or directly help the common man.

“I will transform Uasin Gishu County assembly to a world class status by upgrading infrastructure and digitalizing all services which will enhance service delivery,” he added.
