Uasin Gishu Deputy Governor Daniel Chemno on Thursday hosted a high cadre delegation from Stanbic Bank, where a number of partnership ideas were discussed.
The DG hosted the bank's officials led by Kenya's Chief Executive Officer, Charles Mudiwa.
One of the issues deliberated upon was partnering to support and grow the Eldoret City Marathon, which inaugurates on April 22, 2018.
The bank got particularly interested with the county-sponsored marathon, which is themed 'Climate action' gearing towards helping to curb effects of climate change.
Moses Tanui, the first human being to run 21km marathon under one hour (59.47, Stramilano Half Marathon - 1993), was present to shed light on what has been touted as Kenya's highest paying race.
Stanbic Bank also said they are interested in supporting the county government's efforts in agriculture, including financing farmers do various projects.
Finance and Planning CECM, CPA Julius Ruto, also attended the meeting and said Stanbic Bank could be a partner even as the County moves to fully automate revenue payments.
