Nyamira County government is set to adopt a digital system in its revenue collection in a bid to hit a target of Sh200 million, Nyamira county Governor John Nyagarama’s spokesman Kefa Miller has said.
He said the county is expected to stop the issuance of manual receipts by the end of this year.
"We will start collecting revenue digitally and we expect to improve revenue collections because revenue collecting officers will not be able to steal money collected as revenue,” he said.
The spokesman stated that the county is committed to ensure money collected as revenue from residents is utilized to initiate and launch various projects across the county.
“No money will be wasted because money collected as revenue will be used on projects which will improve the livelihoods of the people in the county.
"Several feeder roads and markets will be improved using the revenue money,” he added.
