Kiambu Governor William Kabogo has said that a huge chunk of the county’s budget in the next financial year will be channeled towards development.
Speaking at Muoingoiya primary school during the International Water day celebrations on Tuesday, Kabogo said that more money will be channeled towards completing development projects.
Kabogo said that the county has initiated various development projects which he said will be completed before the next general elections.
“We are committed to ensuring that every development project that is ongoing is completed on time before we enter the election mood next year,” said Kabogo.
Governor Kabogo urged county ward administrators to work closely with the county ministers to ensure that projects are completed on time.
Kabogo assured residents that he will fulfill all the development promises he made to them.
He noted that the county had made strides in various sectors including health, education, youth and women empowerment, infrastructure and agriculture.
The governor appealed to residents not to listen to petty politicians spreading rumors about his government.
He said that some politicians were not happy with the development progress the county is making and were keening to block more development.
Kabogo said he will not start political campaigns in race to the 2017 elections until all development projects are completed.
