Mr Maangi assured that areas which are yet to be installed by street lights will benefit from the program by the end of May.

"Solar power lights have been installed at most of the shopping centres to ensure traders operate their businesses 24 hours. Areas which have so far benefited include Ogembo, Nyabisiongororo, Tendere, Omaringamu, Nyamache junction among others," he said.

He assured that Sub-counties such as Bonchari, South Mugirango, Bobasi, Kitutu Chache North and South will benefit from the program.

The Deputy Governor said that the installation of street lights will boost security across all markets in the county and roads to curb theft.

"The lights at night will scare away thieves who have been taking advantage of the darkness. Traders will have the opportunity to run their businesses without fear because criminals will not steal in broad light," he said.
