Nyamira County will buy machines to help in drilling boreholes as a measure to address perennial water crisis.

Gesima ward MCA Charles Maroko said the county has allocated funds to buy the drilling machines. 

“Drilling machines will be bought to help in drilling boreholes across all the wards to end water shortages. Meanwhile, residents should utilize available water because many of water sources have gone dry,” he said. 

The MCA assured that in future the county will not witness water shortages.

"Each ward will have at least 2 boreholes and this will ensure there is plenty water supply to serve the high number of locals,” he noted.

This comes after residents urged the county government to move with speed and help end water shortage.Residents are currently buying a 20 liter container full of water at Sh30.
