The county government of Uasin Gishu will employ 400 more ECDE teachers in the next financial year.

Governor Jackson Mandago said this will ensure that children get strong foundations in their education journey.

“Since we took over we have employed 1000 ECDE teachers. We are planning to employ an additional 400 ECDE teachers,” he said in Eldoret town, Monday.

“I am committed to ensuring that our children get quality education by having enough and qualified teachers. My government has started equipping all the 580 ECDE centers,” added governor Mandago.

He called upon ECDE teachers to perform their duties as expected of them failure to which stern actions will be taken against them.

“My government will not tolerate any form of laziness anyone found will be shown the door,” noted governor Mandago.

He also promised to follow up the Ministry of Education to ensure that they repair and construct public schools classroom across the schools in the county to ensure students live in a conducive environment.
