Governor Jack Ranguma expressed concern over increased rate of loss of revenue, which he said is a game plan between traders and revenue collectors.

Mr Ranguma who addressed  youth during a tour of East-West Youth Group on Friday said the county has been losing a lot of revenue through fraudulent means at the revenue collection stage.

"Kibuye Market is one of our revenue bases, but we have received information on traders who bring goods to the market choosing to offload the goods in the outskirt and sell to the retailers or move them in bits to the market so as to avoid taxation," said Ranguma.

He added: "We have also heard of instances where the revenue collectors are not honest and use other means to exempt the traders from taxation."

The governor said Uasin Gishu County had employed the same method and had their revenue increase within three months.

"The youth in the county require service delivery and that cannot be possible without revenue. So we think you can be in the right position to help us block the revenue leakage through proper monitoring and I believe we may go the Uasin Gishu way," said the governor.

According to him, the youth would be dispatched in various spots where they would monitor and arrest anyone involved in revenue loss.

The culprits would then be charged.
