[Photo|Uasin Gishu County Government]The County Government of Uasin Gishu is working on establishing a rehabilitation centre to aid drug addicts in reconstructing their lives. This will bring to an end cases where addicts have been neglected in the past according to the County Alcoholic Drinks Control Board (ADCB) director Sila Boit. Also, the County in conjunction with the National Government has begun the inspection of all the alcoholic drinks premises across the County. The premises visited for the inspection are those that adhered to the County's call on the application to run the business. The department of Alcoholic Drinks and Control Board had in late November 2017 called on interested people to apply for licenses to sell alcohol through an advert placed on the local dailies."We received about 1000 applications. We hope to issue them all with licenses if they meet the requirements," said Boit. After the inspection is done a committee will sit and scrutinize the findings. They will then issue licenses to the qualified businesses.“We will put into considerations all the concerns and recommendations that will be raised by the committee," noted Boit on Wednesday.
