It is good news for the horticultural sector in Nakuru which is set to get a boost following assurance by President Uhuru Kenyatta of Sh23.2 billion from the National Treasury by the end of this financial year to fund the construction of an airport.
“We are ready to build an airport in Nakuru to help exporters of horticultural produce once the land issues are resolved,” said Uhuru on his official tweeter handle.
According to the tweeter post, Nakuru County will have received Sh23.2 billion from the National Treasury by the end of this financial year
The President has assured Nakuru residents by affirming that the county holds a special place in the republic as it is one of the regions where all Kenyan communities reside.
Meanwhile, the Head of State officially launched medical equipment at the Nakuru Level 5 Hospital.
Uhuru and his deputy, William Ruto are on a two-day tour of the county which concludes Thursday.
