Speaking in his office on Monday when he hosted the National Ant-Corruption Campaign Steering Committee director David Gathii , Chemno said the county will collaborate and cooperate with government agencies in the fight against corruption.

He further added that county staffs have been sensitised about corruption.

“The Uasin Gishu government will work hand in hand with government agencies mandated to prevent and fight corruption. We have educated our staff on the effects and consequences if engaging in corruption,” said Chemno.

Chemno noted that corruption is a serious economic crime, whose perpetrators should be dealt with, adding that Kenyans have been denied access to quality services as a result of corruption.

Chemno urged residents across the county to report cases of corruption, noting that 30 per cent of corruption cases are not reported.

On his part, National Anti-Corruption campaign Steering Committee chair supported the new measures put in place by the government to stem corruption.

“We as a committee are fully behind President Uhuru Kenyatta as he seeks to stamp out corruption,” he said.

The director urged county government to put in place strategies that will effectively curb corruption.
