Nakuru county government has announced plans to employ 150 nurses on contract to help in improving delivery of health services.
Waithanji Mutiti, the county Public service board chairman said the nurses will be deployed at the various public health centers in the 11 sub counties.
“The nurses to be employed on contract will be deployed in the public health centers in the sub county hospitals. They will serve on contract basis but they will be absorbed into permanent service as time goes by,” said Mutiti.
He said further details of the interviews to fill the positions will be given by Friday this week.
“Interviews to fill the positions will be done on a date yet to be announced. The interviewing process will be free, fair and transparent,” he added.
