According to the county secretary Erick Onchana, the conference will allow residents share notes with the county government and come with concrete solutions on problems facing the county government.

“As a county, we have organized a devolution conference which will be held on Thursday at Sironga Girls. It’s our appeal to Nyamira residents to consider attending so that we can discuss issues pertaining our county,” Onchana said.

“All county government officials led by Governor John Nyagarama will be attending so feel free to join the conversation as we find the best way of improving our county,” he added.

He also said the governor will seize the opportunity and highlight on a number of his achievements and also extend an olive branch to opposition leaders for a constructive dialogue.

“His excellency governor will also have an opportunity to highlight a number of achievements since 2013 as county boss. It will also be a consultative forum where gubernatorial aspirants will be welcome to share with the county leadership for the sake of social-economic transformation,” he added.

The county secretary also confirmed invitation of all elected and nominated leaders from the county despite strained relationship that has existed between a number of them and the county government.

“We have invited all leaders because this isn't a political conference we look forward to have them attending with us to help coming with solutions rather than just critiquing,” he said.
