Garissa devolved unit will develop and implement a five-year development plan, county deputy governor Abdi Dagane has said.
During a forum to review the previous county integrated development plan, Dagane said it would take into consideration the region's needs.
He said the previous plan was not implemented because of many challenges.
"We must involve the public. We also want the plan to be broad", he said.
The deputy governor called on the public to come out during public participation programs and give development plans that the county should give priority.
"Members of the public should not shy. They should come out to participate and give views on the development plans to be given priority", he noted.
Stakeholders including county head of department, executives, administrators and development partners attended the forum on Wednesday.
UNHCR official Jena Bosco Rushatsi said the agency will continue helping to host community.
