In the company of the County Secretary Francis Thoya and the Chief Officer Water, Sanitation and Natural Resources, Mombasa Deputy Governor Dr William Kingi held a candid meeting with stakeholders in the water supply business.
The meeting was attended by Kiosk operators, water bowsers, bottling and borehole companies among other players.
Their discussions revolved around the provision of clean water to citizens and how the county government can monitor the manufacture of water distributed for consumption by various companies across the county.
"Our main aim is to verify and measure the quality and safety of water distributed for human consumption by our distributors," Kingi said on Wednesday.
They also exhausted possible avenues of partnership with the borehole companies in addressing the shortage of water supply in the county.
"Our intention is to make water as a basic commodity, accessible and available to all households in the county."
"We shall continue to engage with the stakeholders in the sector to fully address the water gaps in our county," concluded Kingi.
