Nairobi Governor, Mike Sonko, has said that his government is ready to support victims of Moi Girls High School fire.
The fire left seven students dead while ten were admitted in hospital
“My administration will provide psychosocial support to the students, parents and the larger school fraternity, and any other support that may be needed to help the community cope with this misfortune,” said Governor Sonko.
The cause of the fire still remains unknown as the investigation into the matter continues.
The bodies of the deceased have been moved to Chiromo Mortuary for autopsy and DNA testing for identification since they were burnt beyond recognition.
Education CS, Dr. Fred Matiang’i, Governor Sonko, opposition leader Raila Odinga, former Nominated Senator Beatrice Elachi and Energy Cabinet Secretary, Charles Keter, were among leaders that visited the school.
