The agriculture and livestock sectors in Nakuru County are set to get a major boost after the national government through the Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries promised to give the county 47 milk coolers.
Agriculture Principal Secretary Andrew Tuimur said the move was necessitated by the need for enhanced cooperation between the two levels of government in a bid to better farmers incomes.
Tuimur who had paid a courtesy call on the deputy Governor Joseph Ruto on Tuesday added that they had toured several agricultural institutions in the county and were impressed by their state of affairs.
On his part, Ruto hailed the partnership saying it will benefit farmers and the agricultural sector.
