Uasin Gishu County road networks will be renovated by the end of this Financial Year, County Roads Executive Gideon Birir has said.
Speaking to reporters after inspecting road works at Burnt Forest trading center on Thursday, the CeC said over Sh 600 million has been allocated to road networks and other infrastructure.
He said that various roads across the county have been earmarked for renovations and construction.
The Roads executive also revealed that expansion of the Eldoret- Webuye highway has commenced.
He said the expansion of the highway will ease traffic which is often caused by long distance trucks.
The executive further revealed that youths will benefit from the constructions since they will be employed as casuals to help the contractors.
On the same note, Birir said funds have been set aside to install traffic lights and surveillance cameras across the county.
He said the cameras will help curb criminals and monitor activities in major towns of Uasin Gishu County.
