Governor Kinuthia Mbugua has assured Kuresoi residents that his government will repair all roads in the sub county before the end of the 2014/15 financial year.
Speaking at Kipkoros Primary School in Kuresoi on Saturday, Mbugua said that enough money has been set aside to upgrade roads and other infrastructure.
The county boss noted that infrastructure development is key to development success of the area.
“My government understands the importance of spearheading infrastructure development,” he said.
Mbugua noted that many roads in the sub county are in deplorable condition and pledged immediate repair.
He said that repairing and renovating roads in Kuresoi will help farmer’s access markets for their produce.
“We want to open up Kuresoi and link to other sub counties for purposes of encouraging free movement of people and help trader’s access markets elsewhere,” he said.
Mbugua at the same time asked Kuresoi residents to remain united and support development programmes. He said that unity is important and that locals plus area leaders must embrace each other.
He added that the government will start campaigns aimed at encouraging unity and reconciliation among the many tribes residing in the county.
