The Mombasa County government is set to spend Sh30 million on the fourth edition of the county's international cultural festival.
Speaking on Tuesday, Mombasa Tourism CeC Binti Omar said a huge chunk of the funds will be donated by sponsors.
The CS said the festival is aimed at marketing Mombasa to tourists, by showcasing the Coastal town's art, history and culture.
"We have invited several dignitaries from US and China," said Omar, as quoted by The Star.
The festival which will be launched on Tuesday by Governor Hassan Joho will be graced by several entertainers including Tanzanian artiste Ali Kiba and Mombasa-based musicians Dazla, Susumila, Nyota Ndogo and Ali B.
The festival, dubbed 'Tukutane Mombasa', will be closed on Sunday.
